How to Postpone Fixtures

How to Postpone Fixtures

There may be times when you need to postpone a fixture due to unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather, venue cancellations, or lack of available. To help keep everyone informed and ensure a smooth rescheduling process, our postponement tool allows you to quickly move fixtures to a new date while automatically notifying the relevant people.

This guide will walk you through the steps to postpone fixtures, ensuring that teams, umpires, coordinators, and venues receive the necessary updates.

Step 1 - Postpone button

In the Upcoming Fixtures table, click the Postpone button to begin the process.

Step 2 - Select new dates

Choose the date of the fixture(s) you want to postpone, then select the new date you’d like to move them to. You’ll also need to choose a reason for the postponement from the following options:
  1. Weather
  2. Venue Cancelled
  3. Umpires
  4. Forfeits
  5. Other

Step 3 - Choose the fixtures

Select the fixtures you want to postpone by ticking or unticking them in the list.

Step 4 - Set notification details

Decide which email address the postponement notification will be sent from, the reply-to address, and the email subject line.

Step 5 - Venue Notification

If you need to notify the venue about the postponement, ensure the Send Email box is ticked. You can either select a pre-saved email template and signature from the dropdown menus or manually enter the venue’s email address and compose a custom message. If the venue does not require an email notification, simply untick the Send Email box and proceed to the next step.

Step 6 - Umpire and Coordinator Notification

To inform match officials and coordinators, you can choose to send an email, an SMS, or both by ticking the appropriate boxes. Select the relevant officials from the list and then either use a pre-saved message template or write a new message. This ensures that umpires and coordinators are updated with the necessary details regarding the fixture postponement.

Step 7 - Teams Notification

Teams can also be notified via email or SMS, depending on your selection. You can either use an existing message template or create a custom notification to inform them of the new fixture date and any other important details. This step helps ensure that all teams are aware of the changes and can plan accordingly.

Step 8 - Confirm Postponement

Once all details and notifications are set, click Postpone and confirm your selection. All configured messages will be sent, and the fixtures will be rescheduled to the new date.
