3. How to create a new league


Creating a league on Magic Sports is streamlined to ensure efficiency and ease. The system is designed to handle the setup process smoothly, allowing you to establish a new league with minimal effort. This approach ensures that you can quickly focus on tailoring the league to meet your specific organisational needs and preferences.

Before setting up a season, please ensure you have completed the following steps below;

  2. Add Your First Venue

Where is the option to create a new league?

The image below shows you where to find this section when logged into the admin version of our software. Just click on League Setup > League

How to create a new league

Once in the League section just click the Create League button in the top right corner. Here you can choose to setup;

League Details

League Name: This is the name of your League.
League Type: Here you can choose if you it's an adult or youth league.
Sport: Choose a sport and team size that you created in League Setup > Details. (Add A Sport)
Venue: If you have already setup a venue you can choose it from the list. If not, you can set up a new Venue at the next step.
League Start Date: This is the date you would like your league to start.

Information

League information: Any extra information that can help explain key things about your league.
Finance Code: Enter your organisations finance code.


Configuration

Category: You can choose if you league is men/boys, women/girls or mixed.
Coordinator: If you have already setup coordinators you can assign one here.
Point Allocation: Choose how many points are allocated for a win, draw and loss.
Forfeit Details: Select the cut off time for forfeit, the cost and score when forfeiting.
Coordinator must be umpire/referee for all fixtures: Tick to apply this setting
Show points field for live score fixture facts: Tick to apply this setting

Payments

Total Registration Cost: How much you are charging teams to register
Allow Shared Payments: If you would like to allow captains to share the season or fixture costs with players
Charge Captain if player not paid: If players don’t pay their share, the captain is automatically charged the fee.
Number of days required before charging the Captain if player(s) haven't paid: How many days before the due date of the payment should the captain be charged.
